What complaints we consider
The Panel is responsible for handling complaints about the conduct, including alleged criminal conduct of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and Deputy PCC.
These pages explain what type of complaints the Panel can consider, how to submit a complaint, and the process that will be followed in handling and resolving complaints.

You should submit your complaint in writing, using our form.
There are some complaints the Panel can't look into because it has not been given the legal power to do so.
Before submitting a complaint, note the following:
- The Panel can't consider complaints about operational policing matters or the conduct of police officers. Police complaints should be sent to the West Midlands Police.
- Complaints about the Chief Constable or employees of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner are handled by the Police and Crime Commissioner.
- The Panel does not have the power to investigate decisions made regarding complaints against the police, the Chief Constable, or employees of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
- The Panel cannot consider complaints about the PCC’s lack of intervention complaints, failure to act as an advocate for an individual, or failure to investigate a personal case.
- The Panel can't review decisions relating to the Police Complaints Review Process that have been made by the PCC or theiroffice
