Panel response to proposed Policing Precept for 2025/26 now live!

On the 3rd February 2025, the Panel reviewed the Policing precept for the 2025/26 year.

The Panel has a statutory duty to review the proposed Policing precept by the Police and Crime Commissioner each year. As part of this duty, the Panel had to produce a response to the Police and Crime Commissioner based on the proposed precept. The response and the response from the Commissioner have both been received and can be viewed at: Panel Reports on Precept | West Midlands Police and Crime Panel

Notes to editors:
The Panel is an independent body whose role is to support and scrutinise the actions and decisions of Simon Foster, West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner. It is made up of councillors from Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton plus three independent members. It meets throughout the year at venues across the West Midlands.

The next meeting of the West Midlands Police and Crime Panel will be held on Monday 24 March 2025.

Members of the public are encouraged to submit written questions to the Panel to enable it to challenge the Commissioner on issues residents feel are important. Written questions to the Panel must be submitted 1 week before each meeting and can be sent by email: wmpcp@birmingham.gov.uk
